UAE Switches Sides in the AI Power Game, Ditches China for U.S. Tech Chips

The U.S. has agreed to let the UAE import 500,000 Nvidia AI chips every year, ending earlier blocks tied to China ties, under a deal that demands tight control over data and U.S.-level infrastructure standards.

Snapshot:

  • The UAE must now mirror American data center rules including building data centers, not just in tech but in how they manage and store AI data.

  • U.S. firms like Microsoft and Oracle may soon control the cloud pipelines that power UAE’s AI.

  • This deal is a template for future tech deals, blending hardware sales with strict digital conditions.

What is the underlying point?
I don’t think this is just about giving chips—it’s about deciding who writes the rules for AI in the next decade. The U.S. is locking in partners early so it can shape how and where AI gets built, and who owns the data. To me, it feels like the U.S. isn’t just exporting technology—it’s defining the next playbook for AI businesses worldwide.

Hands on AI

🐦 Build a TweetFinder-style App on Bubble (No Coding Required)

Bubble.io is a visual platform that lets you build full-featured web applications without writing code. You drag and drop elements to create your interface and use workflows to define how the app behaves.

TweetFinder is a tool that helps you search, filter, and save tweets using specific keywords, phrases, and hashtags—ideal for businesses or creators tracking conversations on Twitter.

Step-by-step:

  1. Create your Bubble app

    • Go to Bubble.io and sign up.

    • Click “New App” → name it (e.g., “TweetSearchApp”) → choose “Blank” template.

  2. Design the layout

    • Use the left sidebar to recreate TweetFinder’s navigation with buttons like:

      • Dashboard

      • Saved

      • Curated

      • Account

      • New Search

    • On the right section, create a search form with:

      • Text inputs for:

        • “Include all of these words”

        • “Include any of these words”

        • “Exact phrase”

        • “Exclude words”

        • “Hashtags”

      • A dropdown to select folder

      • An input for search name

      • A “Search” button at the top-right of the form

  3. Set up data types

    • Add a data type called Search with fields like:

      • all_words, any_words, exact_phrase, exclude_words, hashtags, folder, search_name, date

  4. Install plugins

    • From the Plugins tab, install:

      • API Connector

      • Twitter API (or use API Connector to link Twitter manually)

  5. Connect Twitter search

    • Get your Twitter developer keys from developer.twitter.com

    • In the API Connector:

      • Add a call to Twitter’s recent search endpoint (/2/tweets/search/recent)

      • Use dynamic values from the search inputs (e.g., )

  6. Build the workflow

    • When “Search” is clicked:

      • Call Twitter’s API with user-entered terms

      • Save the search to the database

      • Show results in a repeating group (mimic tweet cards on the main panel)

  7. Show saved and recent searches

    • Use a repeating group to show saved search names, folders, and dates (like in the “Recent saved searches” panel)

    • Link each to re-run the search or view results

  8. Style it

    • Use a solid purple background (#6A1B9A or similar)

    • Add icons and rounded corners to inputs and cards

    • Use white for content areas and light greys for text boxes, similar to the image

9.  Deploy Your App

  • Once satisfied, deploy your app by clicking on the "Deploy" button.

  • Share the live URL with others to access your TweetFinder-style application.

You’ll be up and running in less than 60 minutes.
The search filters, saved history, and sidebar mimic exactly what’s in TweetFinder—all without writing a single line of code.
