INSIDE: Turn clicks into guides

Welcome, AI Explorers

🧠 TL;DR – This Week in AI
PayPal is giving many users early access to Perplexity’s Comet browser plus a year of Perplexity Pro; the EU opened a public consultation to shape AI transparency guidelines and a Code of Practice; a quick, 15-minute how-to with Guidde helps you turn any screen task into a shareable guide; three fresh tools to try; a reusable self-correction prompt; and five quick bytes that matter. Verdict: the biggest gains this week come from practical access and clear rules that help everyday users and teams.

AI PRODUCT ACCESS
PayPal opens a side door to Comet with a year of Pro
PayPal and Venmo users in the United States and some other markets can skip the waitlist for Perplexity’s Comet browser and get a 12 month Perplexity Pro trial through PayPal’s new subscriptions hub in the app. Offer live now for United States users, with paths for select global markets.
What is the underlying point?
I think the wallet wants to become the new home page. When the place that handles your money also decides which AI you try, habits can shift from search boxes to payment apps, and one company can see both your buys and your questions. That is a big reach, and I am not sure people have thought about that trade.

AI POLICY AND GOVERNANCE
Europe asks the public to help draw the AI transparency playbook
The European Commission opened a public consultation to draft guidelines and a Code of Practice on transparency under the AI Act, including clear labels when people interact with AI or see AI made or edited content; feedback closes 2 October 2025. The page also shows the wider timeline for AI Act duties.
What is the underlying point
I think labels will become the seatbelt of AI. Example from my own feed: if I watch a short clip of a public figure saying something shocking, a clear tag at the top that says AI altered audio with a one tap explainer would stop me from forwarding it blindly; if the label lives as tiny grey text at the bottom, people ignore it and we lose the whole point.
Hands on AI
🎉 Goal: Turn a repetitive screen task into a shareable guide with narration.
Time: about 10 minutes.
Free access: extension and voiceover recording are available on the free plan; a 14-day full trial exists for the extension workflow.
